How can I see if I'm connected to the operator module?

If the screen shows players activated on the left side of the operator module, then you are connected. 

Another way to check is if you are in the lobby or not when putting the Quest on your head. If you are in the lobby it means you are connected, if it just endlessly says searching for server, then you are not connected.
